曼联内部对巴萨在未来几周内主动联络已不再抱有期待，巴萨还有权以2600万英镑的价格永久性收购拉什福德，但似乎不会这么做。曼联认为在拉什福德为巴萨在2025-2026赛季贡献14球14助攻后获得的转会费是合理的，但他们已明确排除了拉什福德的回归，拉什福德本人也无意重返曼联。巴萨激活拉什福德永久合同的截止日期是6月15日，此后谈判规则将发生改变。曼联持续保持着拒绝与巴萨重启谈判的立场，目前来看这种态度不会改变。

尽管上个星期巴萨引入安东尼·戈登作为优先选择的决定令拉什福德深感失望，但他仍希望留在巴萨。莱万的离队导致球队前锋位置出现空缺，同时巴萨还需推进阿尔瓦雷斯的引进工作。在巴萨预算持续缩减的情况下，拉什福德的32.5万英镑周薪对于任何潜在买主和曼联而言都是一个问题。如果拉什福德希望继续留在巴萨，签署一份为期一年的租借合同可能是最好的选择。曼联认为这笔交易并不理想，让拉什福德回到曼联担任替补的可能性似乎也不大。除非拉什福德在世界杯期间表现出色，这才可能吸引更多潜在买家的关注。
