业内4月23日讯 北京时间4月23日，切尔西正式宣布解雇主教练利亚姆·罗塞尼尔。就在一天前，球队在客场0-3输给了布莱顿，连续五场失利，一球未进，追平了114年前的尴尬记录。罗塞尼尔自1月8日上任以来只执教了104天，带领球队23场比赛11胜2平10负，进47球38球，离任时在英超排名第八，有跌入下半场的风险。媒体普遍认为，他在输给布莱顿后公开批评球员已经成为压垮他教练位置的关键因素。

具有讽刺意味的是，罗塞尼尔此前与切尔西签订了一份至2032年的长期合同，但据英国媒体报道，他不会得到约2400万英镑的全部工资，而只是按照条款获得部分赔偿。在“清湖资本”上任期间，格雷厄姆·波特是唯一一位获得合同工资的正式教练，毛里西奥·波切蒂诺、恩佐·马雷斯卡和罗塞尼尔都提前离任。

关于继任者，法国媒体RMC透露，切尔西已经与本赛季结束后将离开伯恩茅斯的教练安多尼·伊劳拉取得了初步联系，前多特蒙德教练埃丁·特尔齐奇也在候选人名单上。

切尔西在官方声明中感谢罗塞尼尔及其团队的努力，并强调这是一个经过仔细考虑的决定。原因是球队最近的表现没有达到预期，但仍有资格参加本赛季的欧洲比赛和足总杯目标需要争取。接下来，卡勒姆·麦克法兰将担任临时教练，并带领球队完成剩余时间表。俱乐部还表示，将通过内部评估寻找更符合长期发展方向的正式教练候选人。
